What to Bring/Expect

Please consider becoming an NRL22 member if you shoot in these matches. It's not required but it helps sustain the program and makes you eligible for prizes.

Over the past decade, precision rifle matches have gained a lot of attention and the goal of the National Rifle League (NRL) 22 is to make tactical rifle shooting more available to the community. All it takes is a 22 rifle and scope to compete. The monthly course of fire, NRL22 Standard Target Package and standard barricades are all intended to be turnkey solutions to simple, fun and affordable precision rifle matches. Stages often utilize simple obstacles such as ladders, cinder blocks, 55-gallon drums, tank traps, tires, pallets, fence posts, etc. The goal of the stages is to keep things as simple as possible while still challenging shooters. Oh, and there will be plenty of prone and unsupported shooting stages as well. Shooting, learning and having fun are the basis of competitive shooting and fellow competitors is what makes these matches so enjoyable. New shooters can ask questions and learn from competitors that have been around for a while and if advice or gear is needed, we readily make it available. While at the matches, please assist with setting up, keeping score, cleaning up and tearing down. This helps to keep things moving fluidly and it is greatly appreciated.

What to Bring

The best way to figure out what to bring to NRL22 matches is to come out to a match and talk to other shooters. Reading the rules and regulations also helps. Additionally, John McQuay from 8541 Tactical has a great video called "Shooting Gear, What's in my Bag"

Let us know if you find something that is really helpful to bring and we will add it to our growing list. And don't worry if you don't have all of this gear as we have some loaner equipment available and your fellow shooters often help out as well.

What to Expect

These are family friendly, fun and affordable precision rifle matches and we welcome new shooters to come out and give it a try. There are lots of videos showing the NRL22 program in action and here are a few of our favorites:
