Steel Challenge Match
Rifles must use magazines and
not be tube fed and need to have
at least two magazines.
Rifles can have open sights or
have optics.
Note - Shotgun range will be
closed during the times in
Defensive Pistol, Steel Challenge, or IDPA matches
are held.
Match Schedule (4th Saturday of the Month):
Winter hours (November - March) are -
Set up starts at 8am, registration at
9:00am, new shooters meeting at 9:305am
followed by Shooters meeting and walk
thru. Shoot starts at 10am.
Summer hours (April - October) are - Set
up starts at 7:30am, registration starts
at 8:30am, new shooters meeting at
9:00am followed by shooters meeting and
walk thru. Shoot starts at 9:30am
If the
weather is questionable, call
970-282-1648 before driving to the
range. If the match has been canceled,
there will be a message on the answering
machine.
If you are a first-time shooter, print out
and sign the
steel challenge waiver and bring it with
you to the match.
$10 match fee- A smile and desire to have
fun
Eye and Ear protection and 200+ rounds of
ammo
Practical handgun(s) and Holsters - Bring
enough magazines or speed loaders (at least
5) to fire 30 - 35 rounds.
No limit on how many magazines or speed
loaders you can carry
Holsters not allowed include; Cross Draw,
Shoulder, Small of the Back, Smart Draw, and
Fanny Packs
Only Steel targets are used in match
New shooters must attend the new shooter
meeting
The Minimum Age 12 years old, anyone between
12 and 18 must have parental supervision and
must sign a waiver form for the minor". "In
addition Safety Officers will evaluate the
minors gun handling skills prior to the
match to further determine eligibility
Note 1: .22 caliber handguns without holsters may be used at these matches.
Note 2: Please bring at least 300 rounds of ammo. It takes 200 rounds if you shoot it clean.
Note 3: Match hours - Set up starts at
7:30am, registration at 8:00am, new shooters
meeting at 8:15am followed by shooters meeting and walk thru, shoot starts at 9am.
